A Prophet

"A Prophet" is a Republican-era suspense drama series directed by Yang Lei ("Three-Body," "Swords Into Plowshares") and written by Yang Zhe, adapted from Yi Zhi's novel "I'm a Fortune Teller (Wo Shi Ge Suan Ming Xian Sheng)." It stars Li Xian ("Go Go Squid," "Meet Yourself"), Li Yitong ("The Knockout," "The Legend of Rosy Clouds"), Liu Guanlin ("New Life Begins"), and Guo Jinglin ("Silent Tides"), along with Wu Gang. After Shangguan Chengming's family is annihilated by the Tianxiang Sect, he adopts a pseudonym to retaliate in kind. He teams up with Jiang Feiyan, who is trapped in a quagmire but determined to change her fate. They fight enemies through a series of deception, exposing the dark side of the scams.
